Assignment 9

I used Image-Adjustments-Curves to lighten the image and then used the healing and patching techniques. The top image is the original and the bottom image is the retouched image.

I used Image-Adjustment-Curve first and then I used the clone source-show overlay to remove the wrinkles on the forehead and patches below eyes. The top image is the original and the bottom image is the retouched one.

Assignment 8

The picture in the background is that of a tunnel I had taken while driving to Yosemite. I used the filter 'Accented Edges' to get that effect. I made up the text and tried to align the text inside the curve of the tunnel by doing 'warp text-arc-edit-transform-skew'. I used different shades of color. I also used vector shapes from the shape library. I used layer styles to give the effect to the shapes.

Midterm

I used several images to work on this photo montage. I have tried to do Shivaji Maharaj's coronation in this montage. The background is Raigad Fort which was the capital of his empire. The Fort, Chattri (on the right side), coin, and Shivaji Maharaj, all these images are from the web. The rest like the shield and sword, horse, text in marathi, and musicians are my photographs. For the text I cropped each word and desaturated the image and then applied hue and saturation to get the color. I took the photo of the drawing of each musician using the auction option in the camera. I used several techniques here. Levels Adjustment, match color, hue and saturation, cropping, layer blending, opacity, and duotone.

Assignment 5

After lot of experimentation and several photos I finally managed to create the mask. Again my daughter is in the composition. The background image is that of a sunset in San Jose. It was easy to do the mask when the background was plain. To create the mask for my daughter's image I used the Red Channel only. I used the Layer blending options as well. Then I corrected it further with Level Adjustments. Then I used the Dodge tool and painted it white as much as possible. Lastly I filled the background black and the selected image white. I selected it with polygonal Lasso tool. After I moved her image into the sunset background I used match color.

Assignment 4

I used 2 images for the color scheme. I decided to do a white color scheme. The image with the swan is the background image. I took this picture in India at a Zoo. The flower image is from my backyard. I used Level Adjustment, Layer blending (luminosity) to achieve the brightness in the swan and the water. Then I selected the flower picture and dragged it into the background. I made at least 7 copies of the flower. I rotated some to achieve the composition.

Assignment 3

I used 2 images. The background is the picture taken at Yosemite from the Glacier point of the half-dome. The 2nd image is that of my daughter doing a dance (Bharatnatyam) pose. I had to change the size so she could fit on the half-dome. Then I did the duotone. She was thrilled, seeing herself on half-dome.
