Portrait- Final assignment

The portrait was drawn in Illustrator as our final assignment. It is a portrait of my daughter Sujata. The dress was drawn using the pencil tool. The face, arms were done using the gradient mesh. I made a brush for the curly hair. The background is done as an abstract for a temple. I did all the drawing with the mouse on the laptop. It took a several hours to finish the portrait.

I used the picture of a lamp to do the time lapsed painting.

Animation using Timeline

Animation using Timeline. I had some pictures of Sujata's dance and I used the animation feature in photoshop.

apple cutter composition

This is a composition of an apple cutter. I have used several techniques like extract, blending, filter, creating new brush, pen tool, layer mask to achieve this result.

Type

Different techniques were used to do the effects for type.

This is the picture taken of the apple cutter by the digital camera. I used a combination of Filter and Blending to highlight the center of the apple cutter.

Artist- Jamini Roy

The midterm project was to select an artist and use techniques and tools in illustrator to create an artist collage. I chose an Indian artist, Jamini Roy for this project. We had to select 2 artworks and make one that expressed the artist's style. I used several patterns and text effects.

Fruit Composite

I picked 3 fruits, banana, cherries, and orange to make this fruit composite. I used the gradient mesh tool and filter effects to make the fruit.

Promotional prototypes

There are 4 prototypes that I have created for the Advanced photoshop class at West Valley College. The assignment was to create a promotional poster or book cover or DVD cover for a video project based on the colonial history of Santa Clara.

Fun-numbers

This number project required making numbers in a fun way. I used the brush tool and some symbols to make the fun numbers.

Stars

It was a project from the book Quick Guide to Illustrator.

Photomontage

This photomontage was created using the extract tool, layer mask and clone stamp tool.

Flower

This flower was done by first making a petal shape and then using the rotate tool and duplicating the rest of the petals.

Image Correction

This composition was done by using some image correction techniques, like curves, hue and saturation. The extract tool, and layer mask was also used to create this effect.

Branding

Branding: This composition was created for developing a brand for a company. In this case it is a company named "Escapes" I created for the assignment.

Symbol Collage

This collage was done entirely with the use of symbols.

Turtle Landscape

This was the first project I did in the Illustrator class. We learned how to place an image, use a pen tool to make a turtle.
