After lot of experimentation and several photos I finally managed to create the mask. Again my daughter is in the composition. The background image is that of a sunset in San Jose. It was easy to do the mask when the background was plain. To create the mask for my daughter's image I used the Red Channel only. I used the Layer blending options as well. Then I corrected it further with Level Adjustments. Then I used the Dodge tool and painted it white as much as possible. Lastly I filled the background black and the selected image white. I selected it with polygonal Lasso tool. After I moved her image into the sunset background I used match color.
