Nature

Sunset and sunrise are the two times of the day when it is most inspiring to watch. Sunrise uplifts the mood as the day begins. Sunset calms you down as the day ends. I was fortunate to see many of those during my trip to India. This particular sunrise is special because it is in my ancestral village. After eight years I had visited the village, Watkhed. The landscape had changed a lot with the introduction of huge power line structures. This photo highlights the natural source of energy and the man made source of energy. The title of this photo is Witness.

Our final project was to photograph alphabets in nature. I chose to find alphabets in plants. I found many in my backyard. I made a video of the alphabets.

This was a fun assignment. I never knew that one could paint with light. It created unexpected results. I did this in the backyard and inside the house.

My daughter had participated in a dance competition this week, so I decided to take some pictures of her getting ready with her group and dancing. I took the pictures first in color and then converted to black and white in photoshop.

Week 9- Nature of Light

This assignment was interesting. We had to take picture of the same subject three times a day, morning, afternoon and evening. Also the requirement was a bright sunny day. However, it was primarily cloudy that week. Somehow one day there was sunlight throughout the day. So I was able to take the pictures.

Week 6- Shallow depth of field

I really enjoyed this assignment. I was finally able to understand how to take closeup pictures. I took the picture of the raindrops while I was sitting inside the car. I was thrilled to get the butterfly up close in my backyard. The blossom is from the backyard too.

Week 4 - fast shutter speed

The photographs had to be taken in daylight to accommodate the fast shutter speed.

Week 3 - Blur

It was interesting to know that not all pictures need to be sharp and in focus. A blur can add a different dimension to the pictures.

Finally I was able to take the photography class. It was being offered online at West Valley. I wanted to learn how to use my camera. First week was to just take some pictures. I took pictures in my backyard. My favorite was the quail picture.
